There are some songs that give you goosebumps as soon as the intro kicks in. Here are 5 of my favorite artists.

1. Motley Crue - Live wire, Looks that kill, Dr Feelgood & Primal Scream (many more)
2. Slayer - South of heaven, Raining blood
3. Iron Maiden - Wasted years, Aces high
4. Sex Pistols (and subsequent covers) - Anarchy in the UK
5. Metallica - Unforgiven, Seek and Destroy, One

Each of these take me to a time, a place, an acquaintance and a memory. With the exception of the Sex Pistols (RIP) and Metallica (RIP?) to memories of live venues and my first concerts seeing my idols live in the flesh. Not surprisingly, these are also songs that survive the test of mood; it's entirely possible to listen to them in a happy, sad, pissed or indifferent mood. The songs survive and will be there for you. And it all starts with that intro on a guitar.
